North Central Region Center for FSMA Training, Extension, and Technical Assistance
The FDA and USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) in a collaborative partnership established the National Food Safety Training, Education, Extension, Outreach, and Technical Assistance Program to provide food safety training, education, extension, outreach, and technical assistance to owners and operators of farms, small food processors, and small fruit and vegetable merchant wholesalers. Through this program, four regional centers were established in the Southern, Western, North Central and Northeast regions of the country. These centers work with representatives from non-governmental and community-based organizations, as well as representatives from cooperative extension services, food hubs, local farm cooperatives and other entities to address specific needs of the communities they serve.
Ohio belongs to the North Central Regional Center. Check out their numerous resources for growers and educators.
